To Waterford and Back (on the crazy bus)

Hola a todos,

It's been a weekend of birthday celebrations here, as Jenny and another student Morgan each had a birthday on Friday and Sunday. Friday night, the entire gang headed into the city to go to a bar and have a great time. I was a little tired after running errands all afternoon, but with some luck, I got the wireless network at school to work! Woohoo. This should make posting photos much easier and quicker, and might give me something to do in my god awful European legal history class. It's really quite boring, but I feel the final is going to be very difficult. What to do, what to do. I'm spending today working on outlining, reading, and hopefully postcards! I know I know, should have sent some by now, but it really is quite difficult to find postage here. I was lucky enough to find some in Waterford yesterday. $15 later, we have postage for 14 postcards.

Speaking of Waterford, Jenny and I did a day trip on the bus to the southeast of Ireland to go visit the famous factory where ridiculously overpriced crystal is born. I'm not going to lie, it's a pretty neat process. Each piece is hand-made, which explains why it is so expensive, and with all of the gas and raw material costs, I know why it is so expensive now. I also found out that they get paid piece-meal, which means they only get paid for what they produce that passes quality control. Mos def not the job for me. Unfortunately for us, it rained on us all day, so we didn't get to see much of the city. We did take some shots when we were dashing between bars and cafes, but I'll leave those until tomorrow to post. Overall, Waterford was a very neat town, one I would return to someday.

Have a great rest of the weekend, Tom
